HUE is the artist's word for COLOR.
Color attracts human eyes in a very strong and, usually, emotional way.
Red suggests to our minds: power, excitement, passion, heat, danger.
Yellow suggests: warmth, coziness, softness, comfort.
Blue suggests: coolness, calmness, poise, honesty, sky, water.
Orange suggests: heat, intimacy, wisdom.
Green suggests: foliage, grass, newness, and sometimes envy.
Purple or Violet suggest: royalty, authority, weight, luxury, importance.
There is more confusion about color in the art literature than about any other subject about art.
